. An Ode to the Water Lilly
Upagupthan K. Ayilara
You, the cute tender Water Lilly bud,
You gently trembled and blossmed,
Emanating shiny, blooming smily rays,
By the soft touch of the full moon rays,
Is it that you do not at all know
Nothing about your own face's glow?
Look yourself in the water mirror below,
And how beautiful it is, you would know!
Of course your cute face you can see
Also your lover's shining face you may see,
The one waiting by your side glowing,
Impatiently on a chance for hugging!
If you stand with your head bowing,
A close hug you may get, that is loving,
If you stand by his side, still closer,
You'll get a hot kiss, that is sweeter!
The moving wind helped you to bend,
See your face in the mirror of water bed
Just for a moment, but the waves had,
Had got the glowing moon concealed!
Destiny is a hard curse for you this day,
You lost the chance of moon-sight today
Also missed is the close hug of the day!
Let alone the missed hot kiss of the day!
The dark night has since vanished,
The full moon, as well, has perished,
The sun, the anti-hero, has appeared,
And got the moon, the hero, banished!
Forget about lost happy times, for ever,
Spend rest of life, in praise of your lover,
Uniting with him not possible this life,
Reason being sins of your bygone life!
Thing that you can do now is, you mind,
Upon getting a hug from the moving wind,
Throw a flying sweet kiss and tell him
To give it to the moon upon meeting him!
